Young people in Bristol will benefit from work placements being offered by two hospital trusts to help and encourage students into healthcare professions.
University Hospitals Bristol and North Bristol Trust have promised their support for the Bristol WORKS programme, which links schools with training providers to get pupils ready for work.
Employers are also being encouraged to apply to link up with Bristol WORKS, giving them the opportunity to speak to young people at school assemblies, offer mentoring through mock interviews and create training placements through apprenticeships.
The initiative is run by Bristol Learning Partnership that now has 60 employers pledging their support, with the aim under the One City Plan to get 100 signed up by 2022.
