Property consultancy firm JLL has predicted more than 2,000 new build-to-rent apartments could be created in Bristol by 2021.
An event in March at JLL’s Bristol offices, hosted by Women in Property South West, focused on how the housing model popular in London could become a major feature in Bristol in the coming years.
Build-to-rent schemes offer benefits such as longer rent periods, communal areas and a range of services such as a concierge and on-site maintenance teams.
JLL believes this rental market model is set to play an important role in delivering the city’s housing supply, and will also attract investment into the area.
The Finzels Reach city centre development will be the first build-to-rent destination available in the area, offering 194 one and two-bedroom apartments created by developer Cubex.
Other build-to-rent schemes either in planning or construction stages around Bristol include sites at Bedminster Green, Castle Park View, ND7 at Temple Quay and Ashton Gate Stadium.
